WELCOME – Thanks for checking out my website!
I’m Kevin, (aka: Azar).
We are located near the central Oregon coast in the little town of Siletz.
CompactCampingTrailers.com was born out of our love for traveling the open roads of the beautiful Pacific Northwest U.S.A. on our custom VW trike.
Before discovering this wonderful way to travel we were used to traveling around with our 26 foot travel trailer that has all the modern comforts and conveniences, and we didn’t want to give that all up as we travel around on our trike.
THE PROBLEM: How do we carry everything we could possibly need (including the kitchen sink) along with us in a way that was light enough to pull with the trike, secure enough that all of our camping gear wouldn’t get wet or get ripped off, and most importantly … Looked really cool … cuz that’s the way we roll!
And … it was obvious that we couldn’t pack all the gear we wanted to bring along into one of those little pod trailers like we see other bikers using.
THE SOLUTION: Realizing that the trike was bigger than a regular motorcycle and could handle a bigger trailer I decided to expand on the pod trailer idea and I came up with this idea for the little lightweight flatbed trailer with the extra large, lockable storage pod on the front and a lockable lightweight aluminum storage box on the back, and an open cargo area right over the axle for the ice chest, water jug and other heavy stuff. You can adjust exactly how much tongue weight you want by moving stuff around, And the coolness factor is off the charts!
This set-up works amazingly well with the trike, we can carry everything we need (and more) and she handles like a dream! Then , once we get to the campsite the trailer turns into a convenient camp kitchen area!
I have had so many people look at this set-up and say how much they LOVE it. So I thought that I would share the joy this little trailer has brought us over the years and put together a few for others to enjoy!
If you have a trike, a hot rod or other small vehicle and want a nice looking and very convenient way to carry your tent and other camping gear along with you this might work well for you too!
